Terms & Conditions
Last updated: July 2026
Quotation Validity
- Quotes are valid for 14 days from the date of issue. Prices and material availability may change after this, and a new quote may be needed.
- If you want to go ahead after 14 days, contact us. Accepting the old quote, or issuing a new one, is at our discretion.
- Quotes are based on what we see and are told at survey. If site conditions turn out different once work starts, we'll agree any price change with you first.
- Prices include VAT unless stated otherwise. Our VAT number appears on your invoice.
- By accepting a quote, you confirm you are 18 or over and either own the property or are authorised to instruct the work, for example by the owner or landlord.
Deposits & Payment Terms
- A 20% deposit secures your booking and starts material ordering.
- Once your deposit is paid and your date confirmed, we order your materials straight away.
- The deposit is non-refundable once your booking is confirmed, except as set out under Cooling-Off Period below.
- Need to move your date? We're happy to, with reasonable notice.
- The remaining balance is due on the day the work is completed.
- We ask the homeowner, or another authorised adult, to be present on completion day to check the finished work with the engineer.
- Payment, or sign-off of the finance satisfaction note, must happen the same day the work is finished.
- Payment methods: Bank Transfer, Credit/Debit Card, Approved Finance Plans.
- Late payment may incur admin fees and interest.
- If a payment fails, we'll ask you to pay again promptly.
- We may pause further work, and hold back certificates or documents, until any overdue balance is paid.
Cooling-Off Period
- You have a legal right to a 14-day cooling-off period with no penalty.
- We order materials and hold your booking date as soon as your deposit and date are confirmed.
- If you cancel during the cooling-off period after materials are ordered or work has started at your request, we can deduct our reasonable costs from your refund.
- As the deposit is only a percentage of the job cost, it may not cover the full cost of materials. Where costs are more than your deposit, you remain responsible for the difference.
Appointments, Cancellations & Missed Visits
- Please give at least 48 hours' notice to cancel, postpone or move an appointment.
- A missed appointment, or less notice than this, may incur a call-out or rebooking charge.
- This doesn't apply to genuine emergencies.
- If we can't get access at the agreed time through no fault of ours, this counts as a missed appointment.
Scope of Work & Changes to the Agreed Works
- Your quote covers only the items and services listed and agreed.
- Extra work, whether from unforeseen issues or your request, is agreed and priced separately before it proceeds.
- Changes to the original spec may affect price and completion time.
- Please confirm any changes in writing, such as text, email or WhatsApp, so we both have a record.
Access & Customer Responsibility
- You must provide safe, clear access to the property and work area throughout the job.
- We're not liable for delay or extra cost caused by: blocked or restricted access, unsafe working conditions, interference from third parties, no access at the agreed time, or utilities (gas, water or electricity) not being available.
- Please also:
- Tell us about any known plumbing, gas or electrical faults.
- Tell us if the property has recently been decorated or refurbished.
- Move valuable, fragile or sentimental items out of the work area.
- Keep children and pets safely away from the work area.
- Provide safe parking near the property where possible.
- Let us know in advance if anyone in the property needs extra consideration.
- Get any permission needed from a landlord or managing agent.
Health & Safety on Site
- Our engineers follow standard health and safety practice and Gas Safe procedures at all times.
- We're happy to carry out work at empty properties where access has been arranged in advance, for example a key left with us, a neighbour or an agent.
- For safeguarding reasons, our engineers will not carry out work if the only person present at the property is under 18. If this happens, we'll need an adult to attend or will have to rearrange the visit. This protects both your household and our engineer.
- If an adult present needs to leave during the visit, please arrange for another adult to be there, or let us know so we can pause work rather than be left with a child under 18 unsupervised.
- Several of our engineers are DBS checked.
- We may pause or stop work, at no charge to us, if we believe the site is unsafe, until it's resolved.
- Please don't smoke in the work area while gas or heating work is in progress.
- Keep pets away from the engineer and work area at all times.
Product Ownership
- Equipment and materials stay our property until paid for in full.
- Ownership passes to you once the final balance is paid.
Boiler Registration & Warranty
- We register your boiler with the manufacturer once paid in full.
- Most boilers carry a 10-12-year manufacturer's warranty, depending on the model.
- Warranties require annual servicing and compliance with the manufacturer's terms.
- It's your responsibility to keep warranty conditions met.
- Consumable parts, such as filters, seals and inhibitor, aren't covered and may need replacing over time.
Warranty Servicing Requirements
- Annual services must happen between the 9th and 11th month after the last one.
- Any extra KAS Energy warranty requires all servicing, repairs and heating work to be done by us.
- That warranty becomes void if: a service is missed, servicing falls outside the required window, or someone else works on the boiler, system or controls without our written agreement first.
Subcontractors
- We may use trusted, suitably qualified subcontractors. Any gas work is carried out by Gas Safe registered engineers.
- We remain responsible for the standard of their work.
Aftercare & Servicing
- We offer ongoing aftercare, including priority breakdown support, advice and optional service plans.
- You're responsible for annual servicing by a suitably qualified engineer to keep your warranty valid.
Working Hours & Job Duration
- We aim to start boiler installations at 7:30am. Please have the property, and any room we need such as the bathroom, accessible from this time.
- A delayed start may delay the whole job, and could mean it isn't finished on the day planned.
- One-day jobs are completed the same day where access allows an on-time start.
- On two or three day jobs, the engineer will leave the system at a safe, sensible stopping point each evening and return the next day. The property must stay accessible.
- We take reasonable care of tools and materials left on site overnight, but aren't liable for loss or damage caused by others.
Testing, Commissioning & Handover
- Before leaving, we fully test the installation, including the boiler, heating, hot water and controls, to make sure it's safe and working correctly.
- Where possible, we'll inspect the finished job with you and check outlets and controls together.
- We'll show you how to use your new boiler and controls.
- Any concerns raised at handover are looked into before the engineer leaves, wherever practical.
- The engineer won't leave until all reasonable safety and operational checks are complete.
Materials & Product Substitution
- If a specified product becomes unavailable, we'll fit an equivalent of the same or better quality and let you know beforehand where practical.
Special Order Items & Changes of Mind
- Some products, such as showers, are ordered specially for your job and can't always be returned once ordered, particularly after a certain time.
- If you change your mind after ordering and the item can't be returned, any supplier restocking fee is passed on to you.
- This doesn't apply if we ordered the wrong item or size in error - that cost is covered by us.
Customer-Supplied Materials & Equipment
- If you ask us to reuse something you already own, such as an old thermostat or tap, instead of fitting a new item, we're not responsible for its condition or future failure.
- Customer-supplied items aren't covered by our warranty or the manufacturer's.
- We'll flag any concerns before fitting a customer-supplied item.
Photographs
- We may take photographs at survey, before, during and after the job.
- These may include the work area and newly installed equipment, such as boilers, radiators, valves, pipework and controls.
- Photos are used for quality checks, warranty, compliance, training, records, and resolving any future disputes.
- Stored securely and not shared publicly without your permission.
- With your permission, we may use before-and-after photos for marketing. We'll always ask first and won't show anything that identifies your address.
- If completion photos show new components fitted correctly and undamaged, we're not liable for damage caused afterwards by third parties, other contractors, accidents, misuse or anything outside our control.
Existing Property & Services
- Our survey is visual and non-invasive, so hidden defects may not show up until work starts.
- Existing plumbing, gas pipework, wiring and drainage are assumed satisfactory unless you tell us otherwise.
- If we find hidden issues, we'll tell you and quote separately before continuing where practical.
- Old stop taps, valves and similar may fail from normal wear when operated. This is a pre-existing issue, not caused by our work.
Electrical Work & Existing Wiring
- Our survey doesn't include opening up or testing existing wiring, fuse boards or electrics.
- Electrical work found to be needed once work starts, for example rewiring, a new circuit or bringing wiring up to standard, is quoted and agreed separately.
- Boiler installations must meet current wiring regulations. The supply, isolator, fused spur or earth bonding may need upgrading first.
- Calling out an electrician for work outside the original quote is an added cost, discussed with you first where practical.
System Compatibility & Pressure Changes
- A new boiler or upgraded system can increase water pressure.
- This usually causes no issues, but older or tank-fed systems may reveal pre-existing weaknesses once pressure changes.
- This can affect taps, showers, shower cartridges, shower valves, flexible hoses, pipework, stop taps, isolation valves, toilet fill valves, radiators, radiator valves, joints and fittings.
- We're not liable for failures in existing components we didn't supply or install, caused by this pressure change.
Items Not Supplied or Installed By Us
- We're not responsible for the age, condition, wear, limescale build-up or performance of existing fixtures, fittings or appliances we didn't supply and install, even if a problem shows up soon after our visit.
- If we investigate and find the cause is unrelated to our work, such as general wear, limescale, or another company's product, we may charge for the call-out.
- We may point you to the original installer or manufacturer for warranty help. This doesn't mean we accept responsibility for that item.
- Any repair or replacement suggestion we make is advice only, not an admission of fault.
Domestic Disturbance & Protection of Your Property
- We take reasonable care of your property, including floor protection, dust sheets and footwear covers.
- Our engineers use these even if you say they're not needed.
- Some noise, dust and minor disturbance is unavoidable, including: small holes for pipework, chasing of walls, lifting of floor coverings, and removal of boxing or access panels.
- We'll keep noise and mess to a minimum where we can.
- Please move valuables out of the work area beforehand.
- Redecoration or making good afterwards is your responsibility unless it's included in the quote.
Decorating & Renovation
- If renovating, we recommend finishing decorating and flooring after the heating work where possible.
- Installations can involve lifting floorboards, drilling, chasing walls and moving materials.
- Fresh paint, plaster, wallpaper and new flooring are more easily marked during this work.
- Tell us in advance if the property has recently been decorated so we can take extra care.
Flue Position & External Work
- The flue must meet Building Regulations, including distance from windows, doors and boundaries.
- This may mean it can't go where originally hoped, or that permission, such as from a neighbour or the council, is needed.
- We'll discuss options with you if this comes up once work has started.
Asbestos & Hazardous Materials
- Quotes don't include handling or removing asbestos or other hazardous materials.
- If any is found, work stops immediately until the area is made safe.
- Removal is your responsibility unless otherwise agreed.
- If we arrange removal on your behalf, this is an added cost.
- This may affect the installation schedule.
Existing System Condition & Power Flush
- Boiler installations include a full power flush as standard.
- This cleans the system and helps protect the new boiler.
- Long-standing corrosion or sludge can't always be fully removed, and older systems may keep releasing debris afterwards.
- Faults may appear during or after cleaning, and aren't necessarily caused by our work.
- Extra remedial work is discussed and quoted separately before proceeding.
- If we decide a flush isn't needed, we'll tell you. As it's part of the standard package, no refund is given either way.
Unoccupied or Vacant Properties
- If the property will be empty afterwards, leave the heating on low in cold weather to help prevent frost damage.
- We're not liable for frost damage where the system wasn't kept adequately heated while unoccupied.
External Utility Supplies & Street Infrastructure
- Things like the street stop tap, water meter and gas mains belong to the relevant utility company, such as the local water company or Cadent, not to us.
- If one of these is faulty or seized, only the utility company can attend and fix it.
- We're not liable for delay or cost caused by waiting on a utility company.
- Any charge the utility company makes for their visit is your responsibility.
Timeline, Delays & Force Majeure
- All timeframes given are estimates.
- We'll do our best to meet them, and give as much notice as possible if a delay looks likely.
- We're not liable for delays caused by things beyond our reasonable control, including: supplier or manufacturer delays, severe weather, unforeseen site conditions, strikes or industrial action, pandemics or government restrictions, and utility failures or similar unforeseen events.
Third-Party Works
- Once handed over, we're not responsible for damage caused by other contractors, tradespeople, customers or third parties.
- If another contractor, tradesperson or third party accesses, moves or works on or near anything we've installed after handover, we're not liable for resulting damage or faults, even if found later.
- If a fault is reported after others have had access, we may inspect first, and may charge for this if it wasn't our work at fault.
- If we find damage was caused by someone else's work, we may charge for our visit and any repairs.
Opportunity to Rectify
- If you think there's a workmanship issue, please give us a reasonable opportunity to inspect and fix it before instructing anyone else.
- We're not liable for costs where someone else has carried out remedial work first, without giving us that opportunity.
Liability
- We're fully Gas Safe registered and insured, and use reasonable skill and care in our work.
- We're not responsible for: pre-existing plumbing, heating or gas system defects; existing pipework or fittings failing after installation; misuse or neglect of the system; third-party interference or alterations after installation; failure to maintain the system as the manufacturer recommends; or defects, failures or damage relating to existing systems, components or property conditions that were outside our reasonable control, not visible at survey, or outside the agreed scope of works.
- Our liability is limited to the products and workmanship we supplied under your accepted quote.
- Nothing here removes any rights you're entitled to under consumer protection law.
Documentation & Compliance
- On completion, we provide: Gas Safe Certificate, where applicable; Building Regulations Compliance Certificate, where applicable; manufacturer warranty registration confirmation, following full payment; and any other relevant compliance documentation.
- All work follows current Gas Safe regulations, Building Regulations and industry safety standards.
Complaints
- We want you happy with the work.
- Please report any concerns to us as soon as reasonably practicable.
- We'll investigate promptly and arrange an inspection if needed.
- We'll do our best to resolve genuine issues fairly and quickly.
- If we can't resolve it between us, you may also raise it with Gas Safe Register or another relevant body.
Finance & Cancellations
- Finance is a separate contract between you and the finance provider.
- We're not responsible for declined applications, approval delays, or work being postponed or cancelled because finance falls through.
- If finance is cancelled after we've ordered materials or incurred costs, you may still be liable for those reasonable costs, subject to consumer legislation.
Promotions & Price Match
- We need proof of a genuine written competitor quote to price match.
- It must be like for like, including: same boiler manufacturer, same boiler model and output, same warranty period, and same scope of work.
- The competitor must be a legitimate, Gas Safe registered company.
- We may decline any price match request at our discretion.
- We won't match online quotes where no full on-site survey has been done.
Waste Removal & Old Equipment
- We remove standard waste and packaging from our work.
- Removing your old boiler, cylinder or other equipment is included only if stated in your quote.
- Removing extra items not in the quote may cost more.
- Want to keep something we'd otherwise remove? Let us know before the installation.
- Anything not requested to be kept is treated as waste and disposed of.
- No return visits to drop off or collect items unless agreed in advance.
- Anything left at your request is at your own risk.
Termination of Contract
- We may pause or end the job, and keep reasonable costs including deposits, if you: fail to provide safe, reasonable access; obstruct or delay the agreed work; breach these terms; or behave in a threatening, abusive or unsafe way towards our staff.
- Any refund after termination is subject to deductions for work done, materials ordered and other reasonable costs.
Data Protection & Privacy
- We handle your personal data under UK data protection law.
- We use it for: quotes and installations, warranty registration, finance applications where applicable, servicing reminders and aftercare, and legal and regulatory compliance.
- We only share it where needed for: manufacturer warranty registration, finance applications, Gas Safe or Building Regulations compliance, and other legal obligations.
- Your data is stored securely and kept only as long as necessary.
- You can ask what we hold about you, or ask us to correct or delete it.
General
- These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales.
- These terms, plus your accepted quote, form the whole agreement between us.
- If part of these terms isn't enforceable, the rest still applies.
- We may update these terms. The version in place when you accepted your quote applies to your job.
